Fish Curry
This mouth watering Fish Curry is extremely popular.  A heart healthy dish.  Enjoy with either rice or roti. 
Preparation Time: 5 Minutes
Cooking Time: 20 Minutes
Serving: 2 to 3 Persons
Ingredients
Cooking oil 5 table spoon
Corainder powder 2 tea spoon
Fenugreek leaves dried 1 pinch
Fish steaks big pieces 2
Ginger garlic paste 1/2 tea spoon each
Green Chilli 1
Mustard seeds 1 pinch
Onion 1/2
Red chilli pepper powder 1/2 tea spoon
Salt 1 tea spoon
Turmeric powder 1/4 tea spoon
Water 3/4 cup
Yogurt 3 table spoon
 
Method
Steps using a pressure cooker - if you do not have a pressure cooker adjust cooking time to make sure fish is cooked and tender. 
  • Thinly slice onion and ry i 5 table spoon of oil till medium brown
  • Remove fried onions and set aside on paper towel.  Leave oil in cooker
  • Fry mustard seeds in the oil for one minute on medium heat
  • Add all spices to the cooker and fry for another two minutes add some water while frying
  • Blend yogurt and fried onions together forming a light brown paste
  • Transfer yogurt paste to pressure cooker and cook with spices
  • Cook on medium heat, keep on stirring till the paste turns grainy, the water should evaporate and you should see the oil seperate
  • Using kitchen knife of scissors cut fish stakes to two inches pieces
  • Add the fish to the cooker.  Add green chilli and water to the cooker and close the lid, cook on high heat
  • Wait till pressure builds ( one whistle) after that turn the heat to medium and cook for another 3 minutes
  • Turn off the heat.  When safe open the cooker and serve
  • Garnish with dry fenugreek leaves
Eat with Roti or Rice
